This is my favorite movie. Everything you've done in this animation is outstanding, especially for under two weeks of work. Great colors. I thought the log flying at the screen when the dust cloud shoots up was a nice little effect. You're efficient as hell with flash. How'd you get into animating? I started with my brother's mariopaint where you could choose 4, 6 or 9 frames and make a little loop.

Good, needs more action

Like some others have said, it was repetitive and could have used a little more movement. CS may be less "run and gun" and more about precision, but throwing in some running and diving etc. as well as different angles would make this more enjoyable. I know the editing must be hell on an animation like this.

StealthBeast responds:

Yes, it was hell lol

repetative? I get that alot

thanks for the review!

It's great that so many artists are good at taking advantage of Flash's shortcuts, but this is what I really like to see. Frame by frame... nothing beats it. It's worth all of the time and effort and I'm impressed with this one. As for the short itself, eventhough it's an introduction, the story IS confusing and choppy and I wasn't very interested in what was going on. I mainly focused on the FBF work. If you're not just displaying your animating talent, the story should be enjoyable as well.. but you did give yourself an out - this being an introduction and "VERY deliberate" - and I can't judge too harshly on that, especially with such great animating. I'll be looking out for the second one. Great job.

DANPPOWA

Not much animation. The background and the style of the fish were nice. I think a better arguement would have been to show a picture of the food chain inside of a red circle with a diagonal red slash going from one side of the circle to the other, meaning "wrong" or "no". This would be easily understandable. No lesson to search for, just the simple information that eating to survive is wrong and we should blow up the earth.

It's hard to rate

Almost all of this animation was knocked off. There's very little original work. The butterfly is from the flash tutorial, the two main characters and backgroud are straight from "synj" (which is very close to your title), the tiny sasquatch looks like an Adam Phillips character, and the fight sequence could have been traced from a Dragon Ball Z episode. Apart from the unoriginality, it's decent. If animating is just a hobby for you, then go to town pulling parts of your favorite animations together. You have a fairly high score. Just don't take much credit for any of it.

Min-T-Fresh responds:

Not sure about the butterfly thing since I never seen it and dont remember any DBZ battle (too many eps anyways) but yeah some chars were based off other animations. I started this as just a practice and didnt plan on posting it till I put most of it together so I just left it as is. I'll change stuff around next time.

Weak

When you trace another artists work and use direct quotes, you shouldn't try to play it off as your own. Be realistic about it. I don't understand how so many fans of the comic have no idea that you put no thought whatsoever into this animation. I'm glad you decided to make a tribute to Sin City, but this was a poor attempt. Everything with the exception of one drawing (the kiss) was traced. Throwing in blinking animations and music that doesn't fit shouldn't have given his a high score.

Great!

Nicely done. I had a good laugh. I like the setup as well.

Nice work

This deserves a much higher score. I haven't laughed harder from any other movie at Newgrounds. I guess the viewers aren't looking past the stickfigures, but it wouldn't have been as funny without em. You've got a hell of a sense of humor.
